There are many different types of scarves and similarly scarves can be tied in many different ways. The main types are: The Short Knit, The Long Knit, The Long Silk or Satin, The Extra Wide Fabric, The Square Silk or Satin, and The Fur Scarf.
There are hundreds of different ways to wear scarves and therefore keeping the same in view, today in my post I am going to show you how to tie a scarf in many different ways. Here are the steps that will show you different ways to tie scarves in just five minutes:
The Short Knit Scarf: The length of a short knit scarf is less than 6 feet and the short knit scarf can be tied in two different ways. In the first way, you need to fold the scarf in half and place the new middle at your neck. Then you would need to put your hand in the loop created by the fold and pull the other two loose ends through the loop. You can pull it as tight as you want.
In the second way, you’d need to first let the full length of the scarf hang around your neck with one side hanging down about one foot more than the other. Hold the long end and cross it over your neck, tossing it behind you and over the opposite shoulder and let it hang there.
The Long Knit Scarf: The length of a long knit scarf is 6 feet or more and there are different ways to wear it. In the first way, you place the middle of the scarf at your neck and then begin wrapping the two sides that are hanging down around your neck, you need to wrap them around your neck over and over, alternating sides each time. Do keep in mind to wrap it close to your neck one time and then very loose the next till you get several layers and levels hanging around your neck.
In the second way, first you need to fold the scarf in half and, then place the new middle on your neck. Next, you will take both the ends and tie them around your neck in a loose knot.
The Square Silk or Satin Scarf: This one is a very easy style, you can just pull the two opposite corners tight until the scarf forms a long narrow band of fabric. Also, the square silk or satin scarf can be simply tied in a knot with its two opposite corners. Tie a knot at the back of your neck and have the triangular shape of fabric that is being formed hang loosely below your chin.
The Long Silk or Satin Scarf: The best ways to tie a silk or satin scarf is to either tie it in a loose knot or tie it like a traditional tie. To tie it like a tie, place it around your neck, and make sure one side hanging down is longer than the other. Hold and pull the short end straight out and wrap the long end across the short one. Now bring the long end around the back of the short one and then around again, this way you make two loops. The second time you create a loop, keep your finger inside it to form an opening. Then, as you bring the scarf around the back for the second time, stop and pull it up through the V shape which is created by the two sides just below your chin. Now as you bring it up through this V, bring the end down through the loop held by your finger. Pull the end completely through the loop and tighten the knot. Adjust the placement of the knot by pulling on what was the short end and make sure both sides are equal.
Extra Wide Fabric: These scarves are mostly found in Europe and are ought to have a fringe. These scarves are mostly made from wrinkly type of soft fabric and their length is about 4 feet long and 3 feet wide when you fold them completely. Place the middle of the scarf at the back of your neck, this way you will have the two unfolded ends hanging on either side of you. Pull each end across you and around your neck to form a bunch of layered fabric hanging on your upper chest, pull your scarf a little tighter and tuck each ends in to have a voluminous bunch of cloth at your neck.
